“Changing Tides”, an 8-song EP, will feature 4 new songs from Second to Last and four new songs from Starters. The release will be available on CD, and on limited edition lathe-cut records and cassette tapes. “Tides” is part of a co-release between Quote Your Pulse Records (California) and Guys With Beards Records (Ireland).
“Changing Tides” is Second To Last’s sophomore effort on Quote Your Pulse, following 2012 release “Vessel”.
Second To Last recently transitioned into a solo act. In support of “Changing Tides” friends and fellow musicians will be joining front man Tyson Evans in April, for a full-band West Coast Tour. The band will release a full-length album this summer.
“Changing Tides” is the first American effort from Starters, who previously released their EP “Reasons To Stay” on City of Gold Records (UK). Starters will be supporting “Changing Tides” by heading out on a European Tour this April, with South Wales band Forrest. Starters is in the process of finishing their debut full-length, and will be releasing it this summer.
Changing Tides Featuring Second to Last and Starters
“Changing Tides” EP debuts on April 1st, 2013 and is the first release in the Quote Your Pulse Record’s Split Series. The series will feature one release per month through September 2013. Other bands confirmed in the series include Latin for Truth, Indian Taker, Rookie Town, and Of Us Giants.
Quote Your Pulse Records and Guys With Beards Records have previously teamed together on the recently released Indian Taker/Shortcuts Split 7” Vinyl.
Madie Boyd is Matt Walker, a talent beyond his years. Hailing from Waterford, CA, the 17-year-old singer-songwriter has been making quite the name for himself in the Folk/Rock arena. Influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Wilco, and Bon Iver, Madie Boyd’s debut “Renovations” will be released physically on Nov. 23, 2012 and digitally on Dec. 7, 2012 by Quote Your Pulse Records. For those of you who do not know, my day job is supervising a trail crew with the American Conservation Experience. I travel around to different national parks, and other government lands, doing trail construction and maintenance. This means that I spend about 200 days per year in a tent. I have developed quite a morning routine in my nomadic travels.
I wake up each day at about 4:50am and make myself some coffee in my tent. Before I go to bed each night, I line out my arsenal of coffee paraphernalia, like a heroin addict with his needles, tubes, etc. I make sure I’ve got my French press, water bottle, jet boil stove and, of course, my fair trade organic hipster coffee. When the digital rooster in my alarm clock crows, I roll over, still in my sleeping bag and spark up my stove. When the coffee is ready, I sit up in my sleeping bag like a paraplegic caterpillar. I sip my coffee, read some comics, write, or simply listen to some music. Continue reading →
